Simmering Day at Goderich

The summer days are falling upon the small southern Ontario town of Goderich, located on
the shores of Lake Huron. The platform at the CNR station is full of activity as Train 34, bound
for Stratford is readied for its 3:00pm departure. Packages are loaded while the conductor
helps the remaining passengers board and the engineer completes his oiling and
maintenance check of pacific #5563. On the next track boxcars with the familiar “CNR Serves
all Canada” slogan, full of grain, wait for their journey to Eastern Markets.
